Route 1: The owner portal
If you own the car, the smart / hello smart app account is the first place to look.
- Identify the era: pre-2020 smart cars sit in the Mercedes-Benz network; new #1/#3 models use the hello smart app.
- For older cars, use a Mercedes-Benz Retailer to retrieve records by VIN.
- For new cars, register in the hello smart app and add the vehicle.
- Confirm the definitive record with the relevant dealer network.
