Renault is more service-aware than most owner apps — it shows completed work rather than just reminders — but only from the point you took the car on. That makes it excellent for keeping your own record and almost useless for checking someone else's, so a pre-purchase view still means a VIN lookup at a dealer or an aggregated report.
The record itself is kept as Renault digital maintenance record. Whether a paper book is issued depends on the model and year.
Route 1: The owner portal
If you own the car, the My Renault app account is the first place to look. You'll need to prove ownership to link the vehicle.

- Add the vehicle by VIN or registration and verify ownership.
- View completed services — but note the app shows only work done during YOUR ownership.
- For anything from a previous keeper, ask a Renault dealer to retrieve it by VIN.
My Renault does show completed services, with an important limit that catches out used buyers: it only displays work carried out during the current owner's tenure. Buy a three-year-old Renault and the app starts blank, regardless of how well the first owner looked after it. Older entries, recall work and warranty repairs generally need a dealer lookup.
Route 2: Through a dealer

If you don’t own the car yet — you’re buying used — or you simply want the record without a dealer visit, an aggregated report pulls the franchised-network data against the VIN and returns it in one place. Can an independent garage access my Renault service history?
Not really — independent garages can buy technical and repair information to work on your car, but they generally can't read your full franchised Renault service history. SERMI, which is sometimes mentioned here, went live in the UK on 1 April 2026, but it governs access to security-related data (keys and immobilisers), not the maintenance record.
