Vauxhall is the clearest illustration on this site of why a cambelt question cannot be answered by model. Two Corsas of the same year, both badged 1.4, can be entirely different engines: the naturally aspirated 1,398cc unit runs a belt on an unusually short four-year interval, blamed on tensioner weakness, while the 1,364cc 1.4 turbo runs a chain with nothing scheduled at all. The 1.0 and 1.2 are chains, the 1.7 diesel is a belt, and the Astra's belt engines carry a far longer interval than the Corsa's. Anyone quoting one figure for "a Vauxhall" is guessing.
