DQ381 7-speed wet DSG
Introduced on MQB cars from 2017, the DQ381 took over from the DQ250 across most of the mid-torque range and inherits its wet-clutch architecture and its scheduled fluid change. For an owner the practical consequence is simply that a seven-speed badge no longer implies a maintenance-free gearbox: the older seven-speed DQ200 is dry and unscheduled, this one is wet and scheduled, and telling them apart matters when reading a service record.
